Hennops Hiking Trail

Between Johannesburg and Pretoria, come and experience some  beautiful and stunning hiking trails. Hennops Hiking Area is an awesome place to visit.

There are 4 different hiking trails that one can explore.



Dassie Trail

Distance: 2.5km

Duration: 1 – 2 hours

Degree of difficulty: Easy – Average

Elevation gain: 70m

River crossing: Suspension bridge (Oupa’s bridge), Cable car

This is easy, and good for beginners. Suitable for children as well.

 

Krokodilberg Trail

Distance: 10km

Duration: 3 – 4 hours

Degree of difficulty: Average – Difficult

Elevation gain: 400m

River crossing: Suspension bridge (Oupa’s Bridge), cable car

It is not recommended for children under 12 or adults that are not fit.

 


Zebra Trail

Distance: 5km

Duration: 2 hours

Degree of difficulty: Easy – Average

Elevation gain: 110m

River crossing: Cable car/Suspension bridge (Long Tom’s bridge)

 

River Trail

Distance: 1.5km

Duration: 30 minutes

Degree of difficulty: Easy

River crossing: Long Tom’s suspension bridge, cable car

This trail  is a beautiful flat trail which is surrounded by trees and the  river. One can always add this trail to one of the other  three trails, which will be an additional  1,5km or to return home via the Long Tom’s bridge.
