Keep Your Kitchen Scraps
Keep Your Kitchen Scraps
Before throwing away the root end of celery, how about growing your own celery.
Try the following:
- Cut off approximately 5 cm from
end.
- Use 3 toothpicks to secure in a small container of water.
- Regularly replace with fresh water.
- After a few days, leaves and hair-like roots will appear.
- Now is the time to plant into soil.
- Once planted, ensure the soil is kept moist and make sure it does not get sun during the hottest time of the day.
It is so rewarding to grow your own veggies particularly from a kitchen scrap which ordinarily would land in the trash.
