Recycling

 

One of the best ways to have a positive impact on the environment is through recycling. Recycling plays an important role to both the environment and to us.

Waste is constantly increasing. Rubbish that is thrown into landfill sites emit many harmful chemicals and greenhouse gases. Recycling helps with saving space that would be occupied in these landfill sites and reduce the emission of harmful gases.

There are many different items that one can recycle. Paper, plastic bottles, cardboard, clothes, glass, etc. Just by recycling glass one saves energy. Did you know that one recycled bottle saves enough energy power that would light a fluorescent light bulb for seven hours!   Through recycling our carbon footprint is reduced. 

For approximately one ton of glass made out of recycled glass, 670kg of CO2 emissions are saved. Our natural resources are conserved through recycling. Not only does recycling help the environment it can also be a source of income for the unemployed.
